The Shed Wymondham is a place to pursue practical interests at leisure, to practice skills and enjoy making and mending.

The difference from a garden shed is that whereas activities there are often solitary in nature, The Shed is the opposite.

It’s about social connections and friendship building, sharing skills and knowledge, and of course a lot of laughter.

The Shed is a registered charity, run by volunteers. We cover our costs either through donations, Gifts, Grants or fundraising initiatives. In essence The Shed Wymondham is whatever its members (or Shedders as we call them) want it to be. We have a board of Trustees who have overall responsibility, and many members who help in the running of the project.

The Shed is located in a two storey building on Ayton Road in Wymondham restored by its members. It gets involved with many community groups and projects within Wymondham and the surrounding areas.

Activities in The Shed vary greatly, but you can usually find members woodworking, metalworking, repairing, restoring and much more, our own Repair Shed! We offer a ‘have-a-go’ environment, where you can do your own thing, or try a new skill.

The Shed is about meeting like-minded people and sharing a common space while enjoying crafts or practical work.

As a by-product of all of this, reducing isolation and feelings of loneliness, and increasing the feeling of personal fulfilment. Facilities downstairs include, craft area, fully equipped kitchen, indoor meeting area, disability accessible toilet, Wood workshop, material store. Upstairs we have a project assembly workshop, wood working machine shop, IT suite, Music suite and water colour studio.
