Poetry Across Borders: Literary Icons
A drop in workshop “Poetry Across Borders: Literary Icons” to mark International Migrants Day
Who is Ukraine’s most famous poet?
What does Robert Burns sound like in Bangla?
When was the golden age of Arabic poetry?
Feedback from the previous poetry workshop held at the Millennium Library included a participant from Sudan, who read his own poetry at the event, who remarked: “I met several different people from different cultural backgrounds and nations – very interesting workshop indeed! I am looking forwards to representing my culture and traditions at the next workshop” and a Ukrainian participant remarked: “The amazing sounds of different languages in different poems filled my heart with warmness and the sense of unity”.
