Pilates works by building strength from the inside out, rebalancing the body and bringing it into correct alignment. It’s a great way of relieving stress and tension and can dramatically improve strength, flexibility, tone, posture and coordination.
Pilates is acknowledged to be beneficial for helping a wide number of conditions including back complaints, reduced range of movement in the shoulder, general postural problems and balance. Because it is gentle and non-aerobic it can be performed by people of all ages and levels of fitness, men and women.
When you come to class we recommend comfortable fitted clothing such as leggings/shorts and a T-shirt. You will need to bring an exercise mat and a small head cushion. We will let you know what other equipment you need to purchase but we also supply some of the equipment used in certain exercises.
