We will take a gentle circular mindful walk lasting about 45 minutes incorporating elements of the Japanese practice of ‘forest bathing’ or shinrin – yoku. This is a relaxation process which helps us fully become aware of, and “take in”, the nature around us through mindfulness practice and some simple breathing techniques. Spending time in wooded areas is proven to boost our immunity and our mental health. We’ll then gather afterwards at a sheltered spot for our own version of the tea ceremony as is traditional in shinrin -yoku, while we reflect on how the walk was for us.
