The Norfolk & Suffolk Aviation Museum is pleased to be able to host an exciting visit from the MG Owners Club who will be holding their first outing of the 2024 season at the Museum on the 13th of March. We don’t yet know exactly how many of these vintage, heritage and classic machines will be able to join us – but you’re sure to see a good mix of their vintage metal in amongst our vintage metal! With a little sunshine (lets hope – its not even Easter yet) the effect of restored aircraft and restored cars together in the same place will be worth plenty of photos. The Museum site will be fully open as usual from 10am through to 4pm on the day, with all the aircraft, cockpits and equipment displays, the 446th, Air Sea Rescue, Bomber Command museum – but not the ROC building on this occasion as work isn’t scheduled to complete for another week, all open and Museum Volunteers on hand to explain the thousands of aviation related items that make up the Museum Collection. The NAAFI cafe will be open for the serious business of tea (or coffee) and cake, and the shop will be offering a wide range of aviation related goodies to help you make the most of your day. If you really want to go to town on lunch then why not try the Buck Inn situated just outside the Museum gates – give them a ring on 01986 896883 and book your table! Entrance to the Museum, and parking when you arrive, are all free – but we would really appreciate a donation to help with the never ending maintenance of all the exhibits and to help us keep the Museum growing. We have aeroplanes on display that date from before the war through to the Canberras, Lightnings, Hunters and Harriers that have seen service in the RAF in more recent times. Across the whole site we have more than 60 aircraft and cockpit sections on display and can often offer access into many of them for photo opportunities. Museum Volunteers will be on hand to answer questions and point out some of the features of each aircraft. Well behaved dogs are welcome, provided they are kept on a lead (but not in the shop please, it gets a bit narrow). We are wheelchair friendly with access to all areas – apart from aircraft cockpits. We look forward to seeing you there…!
