Docking Heritage Group

We open every Wednesday morning from 10-12 in the Tony Arter Room at Ripper Hall in Docking for people to come in and access the archives and extensive photograph collection.

There are always 4 or 5 of us present to help with queries about local or family history. We hold an annual exhibition or local history fair and often have smaller displays at St Mary’s Church throughout the year. We meet regularly on the first Wednesday evening of the month from March to December when we have an activity, talk or social occasion for members at the Ripper Hall in Docking. Please see our website for our latest Diary.

Docking Heritage Group is a well established research and archiving group and we are always looking for members to join in and offer their skills. Membership is £12 per year payable in January. (see our membership page on the website for how to join).

We are actively engaged in research projects about our village; current projects include the history of the farms; voices from the workhouse and three historic walks around Docking. We hold a community dig in the summer months and encourage people to join in with our test pitting programme.
